Minimization of Exergy Losses in Combustion Processes

In a normal combustion chamber, where the process takes place at constant pressure, the entropy generation rate is large which means also a great exergy loss . In our previous research we have shown, that theoretically an adiabatic reversible combustion of carbon in air chamber could be self- pressurized, even up to several hundred bars, without a compressor and with the same outlet temperature of the flue gas. In this research we study by different thermodynamic methods the basic principles how to minimize the exergy losses in different kind of combustion processes, and finally, how to build up a combustion process where the reduction of exergy losses is converted to high pressure.
