Hybridization of work machines
Inside Aalto University co-operates a research network called HybLab. The aim of the network is to make research on hybrid electric systems for heavy working machines. Long term target of the project is to cut the energy consumption into half of today’s level.
The target is to create and verify a theoretical model of energy conversion, regeneration and buffering in working machine platform and verify the model in practise. The primary energy form inside machine is electric energy. JOT-hydraulics and electro-hydraulic regeneration will be under special attention. In order to manage the development process of a hybrid system there will be an integrated design process investigated. This makes it possible to optimize the developed system by technical and economical means observing at the same time the manufacturing point of view.
